Node.js Backend Developer (5-6 years experience)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Node.js Backend Developer to join Bosch’s software development centre in Coimbatore. You will design, build and maintain high‑performance server‑side applications and APIs that power our global products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Node.js and Express.js.
• Design, develop and document RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Optimize and manage SQL (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) database schemas and queries.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and external services.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using JWT and OAuth.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise application performance.
• Write clean, reusable, well‑documented code and perform unit testing.
• Participate in code reviews, Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps and product teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• 5–6 years of professional experience in Node.js backend development.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Node.js and JavaScript (ES6+)
• Express.js framework
• Asynchronous programming (Promises, async/await)
• Design and development of RESTful APIs
• SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB
• ORM/ODM tools such as Sequelize, TypeORM, Mongoose
• Version control with Git, Bitbucket or GitHub
• Authentication/authorization using JWT and OAuth
• Unit testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha
