Lead Developer - SRE (Digital Archiving)

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will champion automation, foster collaboration, and ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure operational availability and reliability of the Digital Archive, optimise resource utilisation and guarantee application performance.
• Lead troubleshooting sessions, perform root‑cause analysis and define resolutions.
• Automate traditional system‑administration tasks for the Digital Archive to simplify day‑to‑day operations.
• Build and maintain monitoring and self‑healing solutions to increase system resilience.
• Provide guidance to business and technical teams on automation and DevSecOps practices.
• Coordinate collaboration between development, system, infrastructure‑operations and security teams.
• Maintain the system‑team backlog, plan iterations, prioritise user stories and take part in SAFe ceremonies such as PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt and System Demos.
• Assemble and edit source‑code repositories, develop the software stack, respect architectural standards and participate in the full product lifecycle from design to operation.

Required profile

• Engineering graduate or post‑graduate with 5–8 years of experience developing and delivering IT solutions.
• Minimum 3–5 years designing and building complex IT systems.
• Degree (or equivalent) in IT, engineering or a related discipline.
• Solid experience in software development processes and system architectures.
• Good understanding of DevSecOps concepts and experience working in agile delivery and operation teams.
• Fluent in English.
