General Manager – Apparel Solutions (India)

About the role

The General Manager – Apparel Solutions India will lead Avery Dennison’s apparel and footwear business unit in India, overseeing sales, marketing, manufacturing and supply‑chain functions. The role drives strategic growth, operational excellence and profitability while building high‑performing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and mentor staff, manage performance reviews and succession planning.
• Own the regional P&L, delivering revenue, margin and cost‑efficiency targets.
• Define and execute sales and marketing strategies to increase market share.
• Lead manufacturing operations, implementing Lean‑Six Sigma practices and ensuring safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Drive strategic sourcing, cost modelling and supplier relationship initiatives.
• Translate market trends into actionable business plans and growth pipelines.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for the unit.
• Oversee cross‑functional projects as Project Manager, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.

Required profile

• University degree in engineering, MBA or equivalent with 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 10 years of management experience, preferably with cross‑functional and international exposure.
• Proven leadership in sales, business development and marketing within the apparel or related sectors.
• Strong financial acumen, negotiation skills and experience handling large contracts.
