Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst – FP&A Specialist

About the role

EXL is seeking a highly analytical and detail‑oriented Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to support financial planning, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. The role requires strong financial acumen, advanced Excel expertise, and the ability to communicate insights effectively to business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly expense reports, identify trends, and provide variance commentary.
• Perform variance analysis between actuals, budget, and forecast, highlighting key drivers.
• Analyze current and historical financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and operational KPIs.
• Assist in developing monthly and quarterly finance reports, management presentations, and Excel‑based financial models.
• Build and maintain high‑quality financial analyses using advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Prepare ad‑hoc reports and scenario analyses as required by stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address financial queries and support decision‑making.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and reporting efficiency.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in FP&A, financial reporting, management reporting, or related finance functions.
• Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and variance reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
• Experience working with large datasets and financial models.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, IF formulas, INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP).
• Experience with ERP/EPM tools such as SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, TM1, Anaplan, or OneStream.
• Working knowledge of Macros/VBA scripting.
• Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization.
