Engineering Team Leader – Mechanical (India)

About the role

Husky TechnologiesTM is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to head its mechanical design group in Guindy, Chennai. The role focuses on leading the development of new machine platforms, ensuring innovation, quality, risk mitigation and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary mechanical design team, including junior, senior and specialist designers.
• Oversee design, development and release of new Husky machine platforms and critical service requests.
• Plan and schedule design activities to meet committed delivery dates.
• Enforce product development processes, design documentation and risk‑mitigation standards.
• Drive technical discussions, design reviews and executive updates.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain, service and operations teams to ensure cross‑disciplinary alignment.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership with ability to motivate, mentor and cross‑train team members.
• System‑level thinking and sound decision‑making at product and enterprise level.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven leadership experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in heavy machinery or injection‑molding.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of mechanical design discipline and engineering standards.
• Familiarity with Husky products, tools, processes and risk‑mitigation practices.
