Production Manager - Chassis Assembly

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on and driven Manager to oversee HDT chassis and vehicle assembly production operations at our Oragadam plant. The role is responsible for achieving production targets, managing manpower, ensuring quality standards, and driving continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end HDT chassis and vehicle assembly production process.
• Achieve daily and monthly production targets while maintaining high first‑time‑through (FTT) rates.
• Uphold quality standards and manage Quality Management Systems such as IATF, OHSAS and EMS.
• Maintain 5S discipline on the shop floor and drive Kaizen initiatives.
• Plan, allocate and optimise manpower and equipment utilisation.
• Implement innovative techniques, identify bottlenecks and drive continuous‑improvement projects.
• Apply scheduling and sequencing knowledge, work with SAP or MES, and monitor plan versus actual performance.
• Prepare daily production reports and communicate issues to management.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in HDT chassis and vehicle assembly processes.
• Knowledge of chassis components, sub‑assembly processes and related equipment.
• Troubleshooting experience in chassis and vehicle assembly lines.
• Familiarity with IATF, OHSAS, 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Experience with scheduling, sequencing and exposure to SAP or MES on the shop floor.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and capability to motivate a workforce.
• M.Tech/ME/MBA qualification is an added advantage.
