About the role

The Commis will support the culinary team at a luxury hotel, ensuring the kitchen is stocked, equipment is maintained, and food is prepared to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Stock the assigned kitchen with raw materials and ingredients daily.
  • Operate electrical and mechanical kitchen equipment safely.
  • Prepare mise‑en‑place and follow standard recipe cards with portion control.
  • Maintain food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) and report hazards.
  • Clean and maintain all production equipment and adhere to fire and life‑safety procedures.

Required profile

  • Post‑secondary education or relevant qualification in Hotel Management.
  • 1–2 years of commis experience, preferably in a luxury hotel.
  • Fluency in oral and written English.

Required skills

  • Knowledge of HACCP food safety standards.
  • Proficiency in operating kitchen equipment.
  • Basic cooking techniques, including ingredient cutting and mise‑en‑place preparation.
