Commis 1 – Kitchen Assistant (Visakhapatnam)

About the role

Accor is looking for an enthusiastic Commis 1 to join its culinary team in Visakhapatnam. You will support chefs in preparing à la carte and buffet dishes while upholding the highest standards of food safety and sanitation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food items for à la carte and buffet menus according to recipes.
• Maintain proper product rotation in chillers and storage to minimise waste.
• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of work areas, utensils and equipment.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute ideas during shift briefings.
• Accurately complete storeroom requisitions and keep inventory records organised.
• Develop thorough knowledge of menu items, daily features and promotions.
• Remain calm and courteous under pressure, prioritising guest satisfaction.

Required profile

• Previous hands‑on experience in a culinary or kitchen environment.
• Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Highly responsible, reliable and organised with good time‑management.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen and handle repetitive tasks while standing.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn new techniques.
