General Cashier

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented, customer‑focused Cashier to join our hotel team in Visakhapatnam. As the face of the property at the point of sale, you will ensure accurate transactions, uphold cash‑handling integrity, and deliver a memorable experience for every guest.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash, card and digital payments accurately using POS systems.
• Reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift and resolve any discrepancies.
• Follow strict cash‑handling and security procedures to protect company assets.
• Provide friendly, professional service and address guest queries with empathy.
• Verify customer identification and payment methods in line with policies and regulations.
• Balance daily transactions and prepare financial reports for management.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak and off‑peak periods.
• Maintain a clean, organised checkout area and ensure all equipment is functional.
• Handle complaints and challenging situations with a solution‑focused approach.
• Assist with inventory management by communicating stock levels and supporting stock verification.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma (D3) in Accounting, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related field; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Cashier or in a similar customer‑facing role within retail or hospitality.
• Strong numeracy, time‑keeping and organisational abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Demonstrated honesty, integrity and trustworthiness in handling financial transactions.
