Assistant Vice President – Audit (Banking)

About the role

The Assistant Vice President – Audit is an intermediate‑level position responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on audit engagements across international bank branches. The role ensures internal controls are effective, policies are followed, and the bank’s assets are protected while providing value‑added advisory insights.

Key responsibilities

• Lead or support the planning, fieldwork, and reporting of audit engagements for international branches, meeting agreed assurance objectives.
• Document audit work with sufficient evidence and discuss findings with management to reach consensus on corrective actions.
• Follow up on audit recommendations, assess residual risk, validate remedial actions, and close issues.
• Contribute to the quarterly continuous monitoring program and automated auditing initiatives.
• Develop CA scenarios and queries, acting as a liaison with business stakeholders to understand strategy, risk, and performance.
• Prepare and present audit findings for Management and Audit Committee meetings.
• Share data‑analytics knowledge with team members to support their development.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of banking or audit experience, preferably in Trade and Treasury Operations.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to think critically and “outside the box” when handling large data sets.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required; CA, MBA, CIA, CAMS, CISA or similar certifications are a plus.
