Senior Architect – Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Architect with specialist expertise in pharmaceutical and life‑science facilities. You will work directly with clients to translate their needs into concept layouts, site master plans, and detailed architectural solutions that meet cGMP and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with clients to capture requirements and present concept layout options.
• Develop architectural layout options, site master‑plan alternatives, narratives, flow diagrams, schedules and room data sheets.
• Integrate cGMP requirements and support permitting, tender and specification documentation.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with client standards, engineering practices and project coordination procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to obtain client buy‑in and advance projects to the next phase.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture recognised by the Council of Architecture.
• At least 8 years of professional experience, including licensure as an Architect (AIA preferred).
• In‑depth knowledge of layout development and process requirements for API, sterile, OSD, bio‑pharma, gene‑therapy and R&D facilities.
• Familiarity with Indian regulatory bodies (NBC, MIDC, KSIIC, HSIIDC) and cGMP standards.
• Strong ability to learn new facility types and adapt to client‑specific needs.
