Registered Nurse – Orthopaedic Ward

About the role

The Golden Jubilee University National Hospital is seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Orthopaedic Ward team. You will provide safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care to patients from admission through discharge, working within a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence‑based nursing care in line with NMC and NHS Scotland standards.
• Organise and prioritise workload to meet patient needs effectively.
• Work within legal, ethical and professional frameworks, promoting patient safety.
• Support junior staff and students through mentorship and preceptorship.
• Apply sound clinical judgement in assessing and responding to patient conditions.
• Participate in audit, research, clinical governance and service‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
• Assist in departmental running, including acting as charge nurse when required.
• Use specialised and generic clinical equipment safely, such as ECG, IV pumps and bladder scanners.

Required profile

• UK NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
