Microsoft 365 Support Engineer – Migration Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Migration Engineer to lead enterprise‑scale migrations to Exchange Online and OneDrive for Business. You will design and implement automated solutions, ensuring reliability, performance and minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute Exchange Online mailbox migrations from on‑premises or tenant‑to‑tenant environments.
• Plan and implement OneDrive for Business migrations, guaranteeing data integrity and minimal service interruption.
• Design and develop advanced PowerShell automation scripts with robust error handling, logging and retry mechanisms.
• Leverage Microsoft Graph API for automation, reporting and bulk operations.
• Utilise Quest On Demand Migration (ODM) for tenant‑to‑tenant migration scenarios.
• Conduct pre‑migration assessments, dependency analysis and post‑migration validation.
• Troubleshoot migration issues and optimise performance for large‑scale data transfers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define migration strategy, timelines and risk mitigation.
• Maintain detailed documentation for scripts, processes and migration activities.
• Ensure compliance with security and governance policies throughout migration projects.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Exchange Online migration (cutover, staged, hybrid, tenant‑to‑tenant).
• Experience in OneDrive for Business migration.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Graph API.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting skills, including modular design, exception handling and logging.
• Hands‑on experience with Quest ODM.
• Good understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture and services.
• Familiarity with Azure AD / Entra ID identity systems.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and analytical thinking.
