In‑house Legal Counsel – AM/DM

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced in‑house legal counsel to manage its legal affairs across a range of business functions. The role balances legal compliance with commercial objectives, ensuring that contracts, regulatory matters and litigation are handled efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, vet, review and negotiate agreements, ensuring alignment with business needs.
• Provide legal guidance on Internet Business, Intermediary Guidelines, Competition Law, Legal Metrology, Data Protection, FEMA, Labour Laws and related regulations.
• Coordinate with external consultants and lawyers on ongoing litigation and legal strategy.
• Prepare legal notices, replies, pleadings and other court documents, and represent the company as required.
• Handle high‑stakes agreements and terms & conditions, offering strategic advice.
• Research legal issues, produce advisory notes and support the customer‑service portfolio on legal matters.
• Obtain and monitor licenses, approvals and permissions from authorities; manage government inspections.
• Develop and execute legal strategies and perform any other tasks assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Law degree with a strong background in corporate and regulatory law.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Familiarity with Indian laws covering internet business, competition, data protection, labour and related sectors.
• Experience managing litigation and working with external counsel.
• Ability to conduct legal research, prepare advisory notes and handle regulatory compliance.
