Executive Director, Infrastructure Management Institute

About the role

The Punjabi Lloyd Institute of Infrastructure Management (PLIIM) at the Indian School of Business seeks an Executive Director to steer its mission of building management capacity for the infrastructure and real‑estate sectors. The role combines academic leadership, research development, industry outreach, and executive education.

Key responsibilities

• Build research infrastructure and foster collaborations with ISB faculty, global scholars, and industry experts.
• Lead applied research in infrastructure, real estate, sustainability, smart cities, and digital transformation.
• Produce insights that shape business strategy and public policy.
• Design and oversee flagship events and expand the institute’s portfolio into emerging trends.
• Support fundraising activities in partnership with ISB’s Advancement Office.
• Enhance visibility through thought‑leadership publications and global networks.
• Oversee the Advanced Management Programme for Infrastructure (AMPI) and develop new executive education programmes.
• Mentor students and collaborate with Career Advancement Services on industry projects and placements.
• Define the institute’s mission, vision, and strategy with ISB leadership and manage budgeting and financial planning.
• Engage with the Advisory Council, industry partners, and program sponsors.

Required profile

• Academic experience with deep expertise in infrastructure management, real estate, or operations/supply chain.
• Advanced degree (PhD, MBA, or Engineering specialization) preferred.
• Leadership experience in industry or policy valued.
• Proven track record in research, programme development, fundraising, and partnership building.
• Strong communication and networking skills for national and international representation.
• Commitment to advancing India’s sustainable and globally competitive infrastructure.
