Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Cashier to join our branch network. The role involves managing all cash‑related transactions and ensuring accurate record‑keeping in line with banking regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and update the system accordingly.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and asset registers; prepare requisition forms for the regional head office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports and reconcile vault balances.
• Safeguard branch cash, keys and valuables in collaboration with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote bank products and alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all internal policies, regulatory requirements and defined turnaround times.

Required profile

• Full‑time availability for branch operations.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to interact professionally with customers and identify cross‑selling opportunities.
• Understanding of banking cash‑handling procedures and compliance standards.

Required skills

• Cash handling and reconciliation.
• Basic use of banking transaction systems.
