Tax Specialist - Customs

About the role

We are looking for a Tax Specialist with a strong focus on customs to join our finance team. The role involves managing GST and service tax matters as well as providing expertise on customs compliance and optimization across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage GST‑related refunds, including filing and securing refunds for IGST, zero‑rated supplies and export‑related claims.
• Handle legacy service tax litigation and represent the company before adjudicating authorities.
• Design and implement GST policies, SOPs and internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
• Analyze complex tax data, rulings and case law to determine applicability across business entities.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise on customs matters such as valuation, classification, origin, FTAs, anti‑dumping duties and duty‑optimization regimes.
• Monitor regulatory developments in trade and customs, assess implications and implement necessary changes.
• Develop and execute customs compliance and optimization strategies for all entities.
• Manage customs litigation, coordinating hearings and potential court appearances.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in GST, service tax and customs compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Indian tax legislation, customs regulations and trade agreements.
• Ability to interpret tax rulings, case law and regulatory updates.
