System Engineering Project Manager – Rolling stock

About the role

We are seeking a System Engineering Project Manager to lead complex rolling‑stock projects within Siemens Mobility. The role combines project leadership with deep system‑engineering expertise to deliver rail vehicle solutions on time, within budget, and to technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives and technical requirements together with stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, schedule, resource allocation and milestones.
• Assemble and lead a multidisciplinary team of system engineers, software developers and technical specialists.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team.
• Track project budget, implement cost‑control measures and report key performance indicators.
• Identify, assess and mitigate technical, operational and organisational risks.
• Act as the liaison between the Rolling Stock Business Unit and the Engineering Centre in India.
• Communicate project status, technical reports and presentations to customers, executives and cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex engineering projects in the rail or transportation sector.
• Strong ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and drive results.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.
