Store In Charge – Materials & Equipment Management

About the role

The Store In Charge is responsible for overseeing the receipt, inspection, storage and issuance of all materials, tools and equipment on site. This role ensures that inventory levels are maintained, records are accurate, and assets are kept in good condition to support uninterrupted project operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and record all incoming and outgoing materials, tools and equipment.
• Conduct regular stock‑takes and update the Asset Inventory form on schedule.
• Maintain materials, tools and equipment in good condition and ensure they are properly tagged.
• Monitor stock levels, trigger re‑ordering when minimum thresholds are reached, and inform the Section Manager/Buyer of replacement needs.
• Keep detailed user daily records of items taken from the store.
• Track hired equipment, record off‑hire and breakdowns, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for plant and equipment.
• Alert superiors to any abnormal consumption patterns or discrepancies.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of company systems and perform other duties as directed.

• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow procedural guidelines.
• Proactive in identifying stock shortages and equipment issues.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with managers, buyers and site personnel.
