Software Engineer II – Java Microservices & AWS

About the role

Join the AI & Engineering team as a Software Engineer II, focusing on building and maintaining backend services using Java, Spring Boot and micro‑services architecture. You will work on cloud‑native solutions deployed on Amazon Web Services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain backend applications and APIs with Java (8+), Java EE and Spring Boot.
• Implement micro‑services following best practices for scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and delivery teams to analyse requirements and support solution design.
• Build and support containerised deployments on AWS.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives and peer reviews.
• Identify opportunities for automation, performance improvement, defect resolution and process enhancement.

Required profile

• 4‑7 years of professional experience in Java, Java EE, Spring Boot and micro‑services development.
• Strong hands‑on experience with core Java concepts (exception handling, collections, concurrency, streams, lambdas).
• Proven ability to design secure, efficient and maintainable backend code.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
