Software Engineer - Android Kotlin

About the role

HARMAN Automotive is looking for an experienced Android UI Developer to lead the creation of sophisticated user interfaces for Android Automotive OS applications. You will work closely with design, architecture, and product teams to deliver high‑quality, performant UI components using Jetpack Compose.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of complex UI components for Android Automotive OS.
• Drive adoption of the MVVM architectural pattern across the UI team.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, UI architects, and product owners to ensure technical feasibility and optimal user experience.
• Design and implement unit and UI testing strategies using JUnit, Espresso, and Compose testing.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and UI/UX issues.
• Mentor junior developers through code reviews and pair programming.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of Android application development experience, with a strong focus on UI.
• Deep technical knowledge of Jetpack Compose, its architecture, and performance characteristics.
• Proficiency with Android Jetpack components, especially ViewModel and StateFlow/SharedFlow.
• Demonstrated ability to design comprehensive UI testing strategies.
• Strong Kotlin skills, particularly with Coroutines.
• Bonus: navigation domain knowledge and experience with the Figma toolchain.
