Senior Technical Consultant

About the role

Appian is looking for a Senior Technical Consultant to act as an elite technical advisor within Customer Success. You will champion a culture of candid communication and excellence while accelerating global adoption of our AI‑Powered Process Automation platform.

Key responsibilities

• Implement scalable platform architecture, focusing on reusability, schema design, data modeling, query performance and responsive UX/UI.
• Engineer integrations by designing, coding and unit‑testing SQL views, stored procedures and high‑concurrency REST/SOAP APIs.
• Perform system‑level troubleshooting to quickly diagnose performance bottlenecks, memory, CPU and network latency issues.
• Conduct performance profiling and analysis using database execution plans, system logs and load‑test outputs (e.g., Locust).
• Ensure technical quality and enablement through DevSecOps practices, automated testing and clean coding standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Mathematics.
• 8+ years progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in enterprise web application development, delivery and deployment.
• Hands‑on experience in agile software delivery, from development to testing and deployment.
• Deep expertise in Python and SQL, with working knowledge of JavaScript or Java.
• Strong background in relational data modeling (SQL Server, Oracle or MariaDB), custom APIs and middleware/ESB orchestration.
• Practical experience with web‑app infrastructure, containerisation (Kubernetes), DevSecOps, Selenium and performance/load testing.
