Senior Tax Consultant – Multistate Partnership Tax

About the role

As a Senior Tax Consultant in Deloitte’s Multistate Investment Management practice, you will lead complex partnership and corporate state tax compliance for a diverse portfolio of clients across India and the United States. You will work closely with high‑performing teams, leveraging advanced technology to deliver accurate and timely tax filings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed technical reviews of partnership and corporate state tax returns, focusing on apportionment, nexus, unitary filings, and flow‑through taxation.
• Coordinate with Deloitte’s in‑house tax preparation team and clients’ tax departments.
• Review estimated payment and withholding calculations and related filings.
• Research state tax legislation and assess its impact on compliance.
• Support tax consulting projects, including planning, restructuring, due diligence, audit defense, and accounting for income taxes.
• Manage engagement workflow and supervise tax consultants and interns.

Required profile

• Full‑time Master’s degree from a reputable university.
• 4–8 years of experience in state and local partnership and corporate taxes (operating partnerships, partnership structures, schedule K‑1s, private equity, real estate).
• Excellent presentation and communication abilities.
• Supervisory experience.
• Enrolled Agent certification for managers.
• Valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) at start of employment.
