Senior Staff Nurse – OPD/IPD & OT Support

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Nurse to lead patient care in both OPD and IPD settings and to provide scrub and circulating support for gynaecology and general surgeries. The role involves independent management of complex cases, mentorship of junior staff, and strict adherence to NABH standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage OPD patient flow, triage, and pre‑consult preparation for gynaecology and surgical clinics.
• Monitor high‑acuity IPD patients, oversee post‑operative care, detect early deterioration and escalate as needed.
• Supervise medication administration, IV therapy, central line care and complex wound management.
• Act as scrub and circulating nurse for major gynaecology procedures (TAH, LSCS, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy) and general surgeries (hernia, appendectomy, cholecystectomy).
• Ensure instrument sets are complete, sterilized and accounted for; support surgeons and anaesthetists during critical phases.
• Handle emergency OT and obstetric cases with minimal supervision.
• Maintain infection‑control, biomedical waste and NABH compliance; prepare records, incident reports and participate in audits.
• Train and mentor junior nurses, interns and nursing students.

Required profile

• B.Sc Nursing or GNM with at least 4 years of experience in a multi‑specialty hospital.
• Valid State Nursing Council registration.
• Hands‑on OT experience in gynaecology and general surgery.
• Basic Life Support certification (mandatory) and ACLS preferred.
• Fluent in Hindi and English with computer literacy for EMR documentation.
• Willingness to work night shifts and rotating rosters.

Required skills

• Complex IV access and central line management.
• Wound VAC therapy and advanced post‑operative care.
• Proficiency with surgical instruments, sterilization and OT protocols.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• EMR documentation and computer literacy.
