Senior Reliability Engineer – Automotive Power Electronics

About the role

Bosch Global Software Technologies is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to lead product improvement and new development initiatives for automotive power‑electronics systems. You will ensure that hardware designs meet stringent performance, quality, reliability, validation and cost targets while supporting e‑Axle and vehicle‑level applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute reliability strategies for power electronics, including ROM development and brazed‑cooler modules.
• Perform thermal management, high‑voltage safety, and vibration robustness assessments under e‑Axle and vehicle loads.
• Design and run validation plans based on failure mode analysis (FMEA, impact analysis).
• Conduct failure analysis, root‑cause investigations, and risk assessments using structured methods such as 8D, CAR and FTA.
• Coordinate cross‑functional testing activities and liaise with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Apply international automotive testing standards and ensure compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 9–11 years of experience in automotive development projects focused on reliability engineering.
• Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles for automotive power‑electronics.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate technical findings effectively.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering fundamentals (vibration, thermal, thermo‑mechanical analysis).
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic components used in power electronics.
• FMEA, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
• FTA – Fault Tree Analysis.
• 8D, CAR – structured problem‑solving methodologies.
• Thermal management and high‑voltage safety standards.
• Vibration testing and robustness assessment.
• Failure analysis, field load analysis, risk assessment.
• Product validation and durability testing techniques.
