Senior Executive – Labour & Employment Compliance

About the role

The Senior Executive – Labour & Employment Compliance will ensure that the organisation complies with all applicable labour and employment laws across relevant jurisdictions. This position combines proactive compliance management, statutory record keeping, advisory support, and risk mitigation to protect the company’s legal and operational interests.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed statutory compliance audits at client sites and identify gaps.
• Advise internal stakeholders on labour law provisions, employee‑relations matters and statutory obligations.
• Review vendor agreements and outsourcing arrangements from a labour‑law perspective.
• Prepare, validate and maintain statutory registers, records and returns.
• Monitor legislative changes and implement necessary compliance measures.
• Coordinate with consultants and authorities for filings, registrations, renewals and inspections.
• Identify compliance risks, recommend mitigation strategies and support dispute resolution.
• Respond to labour‑law queries and deliver training sessions for business teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B.) or equivalent; postgraduate diploma in labour laws is a plus.
• 2–3 years of experience in labour and employment law compliance, preferably in a corporate or consulting environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• High ethical standards and attention to detail.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Indian central and state labour legislations (e.g., New Labour Codes, CLRA, Shops & Establishments, Factories Act, Payment of Wages, Minimum Wages, Industrial Disputes).
• Expertise in contract review from a labour‑compliance perspective.
• Proficiency in statutory record management and compliance reporting.
