Head of Legal – India

About the role

Invesco is seeking a senior legal professional to lead its India entity from Hyderabad. The Head of Legal will act as the primary legal advisor for Invesco (India) Private Limited, providing strategic and day‑to‑day counsel across a range of corporate matters.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, commercially focused legal advice to the Hyderabad management team on employment law, commercial contracts, corporate secretarial and statutory compliance.
• Lead a team of legal professionals in Hyderabad, coordinating with functional managers in the United States.
• Manage routine legal matters independently and escalate complex or high‑risk issues as needed.
• Support the Hyderabad office’s strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with global priorities.
• Oversee corporate governance, dispute resolution and other broader corporate legal matters.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Indian employment law, commercial contracting and company secretarial matters.
• Proven ability to provide strategic legal guidance to senior business leaders.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing matrixed teams.
• Excellent judgment and ability to balance commercial objectives with legal risk.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Indian employment legislation.
• Expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Familiarity with corporate secretarial duties and statutory compliance requirements.
• Understanding of corporate governance and dispute resolution processes.
