Senior Engineer – FLM Tool Enhancement

About the role

The FLM Tool Enhancement Center is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the development and optimisation of cutting tool geometries and related manufacturing processes. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to drive innovation, ensure quality compliance and improve shop‑floor efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design, innovate and refine new cutting‑tool geometries or enhance existing ones for turning, milling, drilling and related processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to conduct trials, evaluate performance and document releases of new tools.
• Maintain a zero‑non‑conformance rate by implementing rigorous quality‑control measures and managing audits (IATF16949, PS/QMM, EHS & OSHA).
• Engage with OEM cutting‑tool manufacturers, attend exhibitions and seminars, and apply best practices to achieve shop‑floor KPIs.
• Allocate jobs, manage manpower and optimise in‑house resource utilisation, incorporating SCIP and BCA suggestions.
• Handle internal customer complaints and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• 3‑5 years of experience in cutting‑tool technology, process development or related manufacturing engineering.

Required skills

• CNC programming.
• Basic PLC knowledge.
• Engineering drawing interpretation.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC), GD&T, MSA and process capability analysis.
• Audit handling for IATF16949, EHS and OSHA standards.
• Cutting‑tool design and manufacturing process improvement.
