Security Screener – Baggage Screening

About the role

The Security Screener ensures safe and efficient screening of hold baggage at the airport, complying with all regulatory standards and detecting prohibited items or security threats. You will operate advanced screening equipment, document findings, and interact with passengers and security staff to uphold the highest security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate X‑BIS, ETD, and CT‑EDS equipment to detect dangerous goods, prohibited articles, weapons, or ammunition in check‑in baggage.
• Perform physical inspections and ETD tests on baggage flagged during X‑ray screening.
• Maintain high Threat Image Projection (TIP) scores to demonstrate strong image interpretation capabilities.
• Follow BCAS and DGCA guidelines, record all findings, and ensure compliance with aviation security directives.
• Conduct routine pre‑operational checks of screening equipment and report any malfunctions.
• Collaborate with CISF and airline staff during inspections and provide timely updates to supervisors.

Required profile

• Completion of all mandatory regulatory training and certifications.
• Ability to interpret X‑ray images accurately and make quick, informed decisions.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to security procedures.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with passengers and security personnel.
