R&D Principal Technologist (Cloud Infrastructure)

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a senior technologist to own the full lifecycle of its cloud infrastructure in Hyderabad. The role will drive production deployments, ongoing maintenance, and operational excellence across AWS and Azure environments while coordinating with multiple delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Execute production deployments for cloud infrastructure changes on AWS and Azure.
• Coordinate readiness checks, approvals, rollback plans and change windows.
• Lead go‑live activities and verify successful implementation.
• Monitor environment health, performance, alerts and resource utilization post‑deployment.
• Manage ongoing maintenance such as patches, security hardening and configuration optimisations.
• Maintain stability through proactive monitoring, logging and alerting.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes and drive remediation with cross‑functional teams.
• Optimise cloud resource allocation, scaling policies and operational efficiency.
• Document deployment logs, reports and stakeholder communications.
• Support execution planning across workstreams, tracking milestones, risks and dependencies.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in the responsibilities listed above.
• Proven experience managing production cloud deployments and operations in AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong stakeholder communication and risk‑management skills.
• Ability to coordinate cross‑team activities under tight timelines.
