R&D Member of Technical Staff II – Cloud Operations & Infrastructure

About the role

AVEVA is looking for a skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to join its global Cloud Operations & Infrastructure team. In this role you will design, develop, and implement advanced cloud‑based applications, ensuring they are secure, stable and scalable while supporting the company’s industrial software portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop microservices and serverless functions using modern software development practices.
• Advise development teams on operational stability, security, cost management and reporting for cloud solutions.
• Continuously improve DevOps processes through automation, optimization and effective reporting.
• Respond promptly to incidents, minimizing customer impact and keeping stakeholders informed.
• Oversee cloud deployments, track progress, resolve or escalate release issues.
• Proactively manage cloud environments (IaC, certificates, storage, health and backup status).
• Validate new services against operational readiness standards before production hand‑over.
• Maintain compliance with security policies and provide expertise to business stakeholders.
• Document operational procedures clearly and stay updated on security trends and best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in software development or DevOps/SRE, with at least 3 years focused on cloud environments.
• Strong programming background in C#.NET Core or Java.
• Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell, Node.js or Python.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure and/or AWS platforms.
• Willingness to participate in on‑call rotation and occasional out‑of‑hours work.
