Quality-NDT Lead Worker

About the role

Vestas is seeking an experienced Quality‑NDT Lead Worker to ensure the integrity of wind turbine blades through rigorous non‑destructive testing. The role is based in Chennai and involves daily inspections on the shop floor and at field sites.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor compliance with health, safety, environment and security procedures.
• Conduct daily NDT inspections on blades both in‑plant and on‑site.
• Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment, keeping accurate records.
• Perform thermography inspections of wind turbine blades.
• Execute Conventional Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Phased Array UT (PAUT) on blade structures.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent technical certification.
• ASNT Level 2 or Level 3 certification in UT methods.
• 10–15 years of hands‑on NDT experience, preferably in wind‑blade manufacturing.

Required skills

• Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Phased Array UT (PAUT).
• Thermography inspection techniques.
• Calibration and maintenance of NDT equipment.
• Basic computer and reporting skills.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
