Punjabi Bilingual News Anchor (Full-Time, On-Site)

About the role

IMARKIT MEDIA is seeking a charismatic Punjabi News Anchor to be the on‑screen face of its Mohali studio. The anchor will deliver daily news bulletins, breaking‑news updates, and digital segments for both local audiences and the Indian diaspora worldwide, using fluent Punjabi and English.

Key responsibilities

• Present live and recorded news bulletins, explainer pieces, and special reports in Punjabi with authority and clarity.
• Conduct bilingual interviews with experts, community leaders, and industry figures.
• Research, fact‑check, and edit scripts, adapting quickly to breaking‑news situations.
• Collaborate with producers, editors, field reporters, and creative directors to ensure seamless studio workflow.
• Uphold journalistic standards of neutrality, objectivity, and accuracy across all platforms.
• Transform core stories into vertical videos, reels, and short clips for LinkedIn, YouTube, and other digital channels.

Required profile

• Native or professional proficiency in Punjabi (spoken and written) with strong English fluency.
• Proven on‑camera presence, clear diction, and ability to engage audiences.
• Solid understanding of broadcast journalism standards, news writing, and media ethics.
• Ability to remain composed under pressure, read teleprompters smoothly, and pivot during live situations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in a newsroom, TV, or digital broadcast environment is preferred.
