Product Taxonomist – Global Product Hierarchy

About the role

As a Product Taxonomist at 3M, you will tap into your curiosity and collaborate with innovative, diverse teams worldwide. You will shape and manage the Global Product Hierarchy, influencing how product information is organized and accessed across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage 3M’s product taxonomy (Global Product Hierarchy), including structure, attribution schema, and metadata.
• Lead schema definition projects prioritized by business stakeholders and support related taxonomies and hierarchies.
• Engage divisional marketers and application engineers to gather strategic input and requirements.
• Implement process changes, support governance policies, and identify optimization opportunities for data management.
• Provide guidance and project support to cross‑functional teams regarding the Global Product Hierarchy and related structures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Information Systems, Library Science, or a related field.
• 6–9 years of hands‑on experience with Product Information Management (PIM), Master Data Management (MDM), Content Management System (CMS), or Digital Asset Management (DAM) solutions.

Required skills

• Experience with PIM, MDM, CMS, and DAM platforms.
• Knowledge of Hybris Backoffice and/or Informatica P360 for product content and taxonomy management.
• Strong ability to translate insights into actionable data‑driven improvements.
