Procurement Specialist – Ahmedabad

About the role

Qatar Airways is looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join its Global Business Services centre in Ahmedabad, India. The role will manage operational procurement tasks for specific product and service categories, ensuring alignment with the category strategy, financial targets and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute procurement activities in line with the Category Plan and agreed timeframes.
• Lead stakeholder management from initiation to completion of procurement processes.
• Identify and propose cost‑saving opportunities to reduce total spend.
• Negotiate costs, commercial and contractual terms with suppliers.
• Track supplier performance and address issues to achieve higher service levels.
• Conduct market searches to identify potential suppliers and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Manage internal user expectations and deliver on project requirements.
• Serve as the primary contact for internal procurement queries, projects and data requests.
• Develop savings solutions and benchmark industry standards.
• Interface with internal customers and suppliers to secure best value for the company.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of procurement experience, preferably in service procurement.
• Strong analytical ability and numeracy.
• Flexibility, time‑management and business‑finance acumen.
• Proven negotiation skills.
• Relevant procurement vocational qualification or educational credits.
