Pharmacist – Hospital Pharmacy (Full-time)

About the role

The institute is seeking a full-time, on-site Pharmacist to join its teaching hospital in Shaikpet. You will be responsible for accurate dispensing, patient counseling and supporting safe pharmacotherapy for both in‑patients and out‑patients.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medications according to prescriptions, verify dosages and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
• Counsel patients and caregivers on proper medication use, possible side effects and storage requirements.
• Review medication orders for potential drug interactions or contraindications.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory, monitor storage conditions and manage stock levels.
• Participate in medication safety and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to optimise pharmacotherapy.

Required profile

• Recognised degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or Pharm.D; M.Pharm advantageous) and valid registration with the relevant pharmacy council.
• Sound knowledge of pharmacology, dosage calculations, drug interactions and hospital formulary management.
• Experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting, preferably in a teaching or tertiary‑care environment.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and provide reliable on‑site support during assigned shifts.
• Commitment to ethical practice, continuous professional development and participation in training or teaching activities.
