Payments Manager – Merchant Acquiring

About the role

Bajaj Finance Ltd. is expanding its QR acquiring business and seeks a Payments Manager to build and lead this function in the Mumbai‑Goregaon territory. You will be responsible for creating a high‑performing team, driving QR, SB and POS/EDC deployments, and growing merchant transaction volume.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and motivate a Field Operations Sales (FOS) team and monitor their productivity.
• Acquire new merchants and oversee QR, SB and POS/EDC deployment across the assigned territory.
• Develop and nurture relationships with key decision‑makers to expand the distribution network.
• Map FOS coverage, manage channel relationships and ensure sales targets and retailer payment reconciliations are met.
• Collaborate with partners on sales promotions, store activation and ensure process rigor and controllership at points of sale.

Required profile

• Graduation or MBA with 2‑4 years of relevant experience (MBA 1‑4 years or Graduate 3‑6 years acceptable).
• Prior exposure to payments, FMCG or telecom prepaid sales is mandatory.
• Proven experience handling merchant relationships and distribution development.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and high energy for field work.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of payments industry, especially QR acquiring and POS/EDC solutions.
• Ability to lead and manage a sales team in a field‑based environment.
