Patent Officer (Equity-Based, Remote, Part-Time)

About the role

Kefilo is seeking a Patent Officer to join its founding team on an equity‑based, part‑time basis. You will work remotely with founders, food scientists, nutritionists, and product teams to protect and leverage innovative ideas across the nutrition and wellness ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage Kefilo’s intellectual property roadmap, identifying patentable innovations.
• Conduct patent landscape and prior‑art research, monitoring emerging trends in food, wellness, and nutrition.
• Assist in drafting invention disclosures, coordinate with patent attorneys, and maintain patent records.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to evaluate research outcomes for IP potential and promote innovation‑protection practices.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of patents and intellectual property systems.
• Interest in emerging technologies and innovation within the food and wellness sectors.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented mindset with ability to grasp technical and scientific concepts.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, startup‑friendly mindset, and long‑term ownership mentality.
