Maintenance Technician / Janitor (Kapuso Apartments)

About the role

The Maintenance Technician/Janitor will ensure the Kapuso Apartments remain safe, clean, and fully functional. This full‑time position blends routine building upkeep with responsive emergency repairs while providing excellent service to residents.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and respond to work orders, following up with residents and management.
• Perform preventative, cosmetic, and routine maintenance across the community.
• Prepare units for new move‑ins, conduct move‑in/move‑out inspections, and meet turnover deadlines.
• Execute plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and masonry repairs and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate and oversee vendor work as needed.
• Provide on‑call emergency coverage for off‑shift and weekend incidents.
• Collect trash, manage dumpsters, and keep recycling, trash rooms, and common areas litter‑free.
• Maintain a clean, organized maintenance shop, storage, and utility rooms.
• Clean common‑area floors, steam‑clean carpets, and service restrooms.
• Perform detailed cleaning of apartment turnovers, including appliances, fixtures, cabinets, flooring, and windows.

Required profile

• Ability to work on‑call with reliable transportation.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills; fluency in English (bilingual a plus).
• Strong time‑management abilities.
• Minimum two years of experience in apartment‑development or comparable maintenance roles.
• Knowledge of REAC or other regulatory inspections is a plus.

What we offer

• Hourly pay ranging from $25.00 to $29.00.
