Legal Counsel – Property Law & Title Verification

About the role

The Counsel will join the Risk and Legal department of Aditya Birla Capital Limited in Delhi, providing specialised legal support on property‑related transactions. The role focuses on title verification, due‑diligence, and ensuring compliance with land‑law, stamping and registration requirements for immovable‑property deals.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse Title Search Reports, legal opinions, revenue records, and municipal/tax documents.
• Identify encumbrances, mortgages, litigations and any defects in title, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare written legal opinions on title risk and advise business teams on mitigation strategies.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing mortgage documents, ensuring proper stamping and registration.
• Collaborate with internal legal team and external stakeholders to resolve title‑related issues.
• Maintain MIS and fraud‑system records related to property transactions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Law.
• Practical experience in property law, title verification and documentation of immovable assets.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and high ethical standards.
• Effective communication and reporting abilities.
• Willingness to travel for on‑ground collection activities.
