Lead Maintenance Engineer – Coal Handling Plant

About the role

This position is responsible for ensuring high equipment availability and reliability at coal handling plants. The role focuses on reducing failure rates, performing calibration and vibration analysis, and maintaining the Auto Coal Sampler Unit while managing critical spare‑part inventory and contributing to budget planning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead maintenance activities for coal handling plants and drive operational excellence.
• Track and reduce Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTR); improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Perform calibration and vibration analysis to guarantee equipment reliability.
• Operate and maintain the Auto Coal Sampler Unit (ACSU) for accurate sampling.
• Generate work orders for painting, structural strengthening, and corrosion mitigation.
• Provide data for Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
• Manage spare‑part inventory, reduce non‑moving items, and maintain stores inventory.
• Contribute to budgetary planning and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Implement IMS, Six Sigma, and other sustainability guidelines; ensure preventive maintenance compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading maintenance of coal handling or similar industrial plants.
• Strong knowledge of equipment reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTR and OEE.
• Hands‑on experience with calibration, vibration analysis and Auto Coal Sampler Unit operation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage critical spare‑part inventories and support uninterrupted operations.
• Experience preparing RCA, FMEA and JSA documentation.
• Familiarity with budget planning and cost‑optimization in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of IMS, Six Sigma, and related sustainability frameworks.
