Lead DevOps Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to drive the next‑generation DevOps infrastructure for its Global DevOps group. The role involves ensuring high availability of operational environments and supporting R&D teams with CI/CD tools and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable DevOps infrastructure, including on‑prem and cloud platforms.
• Ensure reliability, site‑reliability engineering (SRE) practices, and high availability of production systems.
• Enable R&D teams to adopt CI/CD pipelines, automation, and tooling.
• Plan, execute, and report on infrastructure and code projects across global sites.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to DevOps processes and systems.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on CI/CD, monitoring, and environment management.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Strong Linux and Windows administration skills and solid networking knowledge.
• Proficient scripting in Bash, Python, and Groovy.
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker) and Agile methodologies.
