About the role
We are looking for a KYC Associate to join PwC India's Financial Crime Compliance team in Bangalore. The role involves conducting thorough client due diligence, sanction and adverse media screening, and supporting ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance with KYC, AML and CFT regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Perform client due diligence (CDD) for various entity types, verifying identity, source of funds and beneficial ownership.
- Conduct initial checks on client documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Research client information using multiple databases and sources.
- Assess client risk based on business activities, geography and other factors.
- Execute sanction screening and adverse media checks, analysing results for matches.
- Maintain accurate KYC profiles and ongoing monitoring records.
- Carry out periodic and event‑driven reviews of client accounts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve KYC issues and advise on regulatory requirements.
- Continuously improve KYC processes and stay updated on relevant regulations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or a related field.
- 3‑6 years of experience in KYC, AML compliance or a similar role within the banking sector.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations such as BSA, AML and KYC.
- In‑depth understanding of financial products, services and industry regulations.
