Inspection Engineer – Rolling Stock

About the role

The project involves consultancy services for rolling stock, signalling and platform screen doors for Phase‑2A and Phase‑2B of the Bangalore Metro Rail. The Inspection Engineer will support the Chief Rolling Stock Expert and Deputy Chief Rolling Stock Expert in ensuring that all rolling‑stock components meet the required specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out detailed inspections of rolling stock during manufacturing, assembly and installation.
• Verify quality, functionality and compliance of components against project specifications.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive inspection reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct periodic audits and assessments to ensure ongoing safety and quality compliance.
• Monitor testing and commissioning activities to confirm performance criteria are met.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
• Document all inspection activities in accordance with project requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum B.E./B.Tech. in any engineering discipline.
• At least 6 years of total experience, with a minimum of 3 years in railway or metro projects.
• Preferred age below 50 years.
