System Engineering Project Manager – Metro Rolling Stock

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking a senior System Engineering Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of metro rolling‑stock projects. The role combines technical expertise with commercial acumen to ensure engineering deliverables meet quality, time, and cost targets throughout the bid and execution phases.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate engineering activities for R&D projects and rolling‑stock platforms.
• Secure and allocate engineering resources in collaboration with department managers.
• Control costs and verify effort for engineering tasks.
• Manage compliance with platform requirement specifications and prepare gate‑review documents.
• Lead Design‑to‑Cost initiatives and integrate Indian supply‑chain capabilities.
• Coordinate with the Technical Bid Manager and act as the liaison between the rolling‑stock business unit and the Engineering Center in India.
• Drive internal workflow creation, tool selection, and process implementation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date project documentation and present project health/KPI in global and local meetings.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of experience in engineering project management, preferably in rolling‑stock product development.
• Graduate or postgraduate degree in engineering.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams in complex, changing environments.
• Strong influence and negotiation skills across multiple stakeholder levels.
