Head of Finance Services

About the role

BASF SE is seeking a Head of Finance Services for its Service Delivery Unit (SDU) in India. The role combines strategic leadership, operational finance management, process optimisation and people leadership to support the SDU’s growth and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the SDU’s finance strategy in line with global objectives, acting as the primary finance business partner for the global Finance GBS community.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning and scenario analysis, driving financial discipline and performance.
• Manage end‑to‑end finance processes (accounts payable/receivable, closing cycles, management accounting), ensuring efficiency, cost‑effectiveness and high service levels.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation and standardisation; oversee capacity planning and operational resilience for peak cycles.
• Define, monitor and report on KPIs and SLAs (closing time, accuracy, on‑time payments) and use metrics to drive improvement plans.
• Build, coach and retain a high‑performing finance team, set clear objectives, development plans and succession strategies.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience, preferably within a multinational or industrial environment.
• Strong strategic thinking, data‑driven decision‑making and ability to align finance activities with global standards.
• Excellent operational finance management and process optimisation capabilities.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership skills, with a focus on coaching, talent development and collaborative teamwork.
