GIS Consultant (French)

About the role

WSP is looking for an enthusiastic GIS Consultant who can work in French and support a variety of environmental investigations, including contaminated land, ecology, archaeology, heritage, and Indigenous relations. The role involves managing spatial data, creating maps, and delivering high‑quality cartographic products that meet WSP Canada standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plot, edit, and analyse spatial components using ArcGIS Pro and the broader ArcGIS Suite, including ArcGIS Online.
• Prepare maps, drawings, figures, charts, and presentation posters for proposals and reports.
• Conduct 2D and 3D GIS data analysis, file and database management, spatial data capture, georeferencing, and integration into GIS themes.
• Convert GIS data between multiple file formats and maintain the file directory structure per WSP standards.
• Collaborate with senior GIS staff and other WSP offices, providing regular status updates and quality reviews.
• Identify improvements to enhance GIS services and ensure health & safety compliance.

Required profile

• Practical experience with GIS and a strong interest in GIS technologies.
• Ability to perform routine spatial analysis, digitising, and data consolidation.
• Understanding of datums, projections, and spatial reference conversions.
• Efficient data‑entry skills and basic knowledge of web GIS environments.
• Professional communication skills and ability to work under supervision of senior GIS personnel.
