General Manager – Luxury Hotel Pre‑Opening

About the role

The General Manager will lead the end‑to‑end development and launch of Fairmont Agra, guiding the property from project stage to a fully operational luxury hotel. This senior position combines strategic planning, project execution, team building, and brand positioning to establish the hotel as a market‑leading destination.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the pre‑opening phase, ensuring timely launch aligned with Fairmont brand standards and ownership expectations.
• Coordinate with owners, project teams, designers, and corporate stakeholders on progress, timelines, and critical milestones.
• Manage pre‑opening budgets, CAPEX planning, and resource allocation to maintain cost efficiency.
• Develop and implement SOPs, service standards, and operational frameworks for all departments.
• Oversee procurement of OS&E and FF&E, vendor finalisation, and ensure all licences and statutory approvals are secured.
• Design and execute pre‑opening sales, marketing and PR strategies to position the hotel as a premier luxury destination.
• Recruit and onboard the full leadership team and workforce, fostering a high‑performance culture rooted in Fairmont’s service philosophy.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading pre‑opening and full‑scale operations of luxury hotels.
• Strong leadership and team‑building capabilities.
• Ability to work closely with owners, designers, and corporate stakeholders.
• Excellent financial discipline with experience managing CAPEX and operational budgets.
