Fire Fighter – Airport Emergency Response

About the role

The Fire Fighter position at IGI Airport is responsible for rapid response to fire and life‑safety emergencies across terminals, buildings, and aircraft. The role involves rescue operations, equipment maintenance, patrols, inspections, and medical assistance to protect passengers, staff, and airport infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to fire emergencies in aircraft, terminals and other airport facilities, ensuring timely rescue of trapped individuals.
• Provide first‑aid medical assistance during emergencies.
• Maintain and service firefighting equipment, including hydraulic testing, painting and refilling of fire extinguishers.
• Drive and upkeep light‑weight utility and operational vehicles used for emergency response.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of terminals and fire‑protection systems, updating checklists and reporting observations.
• Coordinate with internal teams (maintenance, airside operations, security) and external agencies (medical services, airlines, government bodies) during incidents.

Required profile

• Minimum education: 10+2 with science subjects.
• Ability to work in a high‑stress, safety‑critical environment.
• Willingness to follow standard operating procedures and airport regulations.

Required skills

• Operation of firefighting equipment and appliances.
• Hydraulic testing and maintenance of fire extinguishers.
