Financial Project Controller

About the role

The Financial Project Controller is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of project profit & loss and balance‑sheet figures in line with business reality, IFRS, internal policies and regulatory requirements. The role provides financial insight to project managers, finance, audit, accounting and other stakeholders while acting as the main point of contact for all project‑controlling matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end accounting controlling for customer projects across all business groups.
• Set up and maintain projects in the ERP system and support PM/PMO teams in understanding accounting impacts on actuals and forecasts.
• Assess and approve changes in accounting treatment for projects in execution.
• Ensure compliance with Revenue Recognition Board decisions and Nokia’s accounting principles.
• Report accurate sales, cost and balance‑sheet items for assigned projects.
• Monitor project balance sheets, perform netting exercises and verify order backlogs.
• Provide financial information to internal and external auditors.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in finance, economics or a related discipline.
• At least 6 + years of professional controlling experience in an international company (telecom experience is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, analysis and controlling.
• Fluent business English, both written and spoken.
• Proactive mindset with excellent networking and communication skills.
• Ability to work across boundaries and in virtual, cross‑functional teams.
